Bio |
George Panotopoulos was born in Athens, Greece. He received the Diploma degree in electrical and computer engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, Athens, Greece, in 1997 and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees, both in electrical engineering, from Caltech, Pasadena, CA, in 1998 and 2002, respectively. He is currently a Senior Electrical Engineer with OptiSolar, a photovoltaic energy company. Before that he was a Research Scientist with Avago Technologies US Advanced R&D Center, San Jose, CA, working on Solid State Illumination Systems. Previously he was a Member of Technical Staff with Agilent Laboratories, Palo Alto, CA, conducting research in the field of short-reach optical interconnects. Other research interests include neural networks, machine vision, photorefractive materials and the use of volume gratings for information processing and communications.
